How we build calculators
Every calculator formula is built from documented industry conventions: NMFC density-based classification, standard depreciation methods, published IFTA structure, and FMCSA hours-of-service rules, rather than invented shortcuts. Where a figure is an estimate rather than a fixed rule, the tool says so explicitly.
Rates and figures are examples, not live feeds
Market rate figures shown across this site (lane rates, city averages, example IFTA rates) are illustrative planning figures, not a live rate feed. Always confirm current rates and tax figures with primary sources (a broker, a rate index service, or IFTA Inc.) before making a financial decision based on them.
